Huntley Christmas Stroll Committee Brainstorms Ideas

by Michael J. Marino

Organizers of the annual Huntley Christmas Stroll met at the Rhoadside Event Center on October 13 to discuss planning the event this year.

Becky Tescher-Robison said she wanted to change things up a bit for the stroll and do something unique that “gets people in the doors” of local businesses.

Some of the ideas the group came up with include live music, life-size snowglobes, family portraits, and even a hay decorating contest.

One gentleman asked, “What are we trying to accomplish here? Are we wanting to draw people to Huntley?”

The answer was the group is simply not quite sure yet.

Robison explained that several of the committee members who indicated they would be at the October 13 meeting did not, in fact, show up. For this reason, all those present agreed to research and mull over the different possibilities, and set their next meeting for October 25 at 7:00 pm in Rhoadside Event Center.
