HUNTLEY PROJECT — Office procedures are flowing much more smoothly now that the Huntley Project Museum has a new computer.
Mike Bradley of Beartooth Computers in Billings donated the refurbished Dell computer to the museum after spending hours trying to sort out technical problems with sending and receiving emails caused by viruses that had infected the museum’s old computer.
Some days, the museum staff would supposedly send out hundreds of emails, all phantoms caused by the virus, Bradley said.
“Deleting that many emails takes hours,” Bradley said. “I gave them quite a few free hours” while trying to untangle the mess. Finally, he transferred the museum’s files to the new computer.
“I tried to help them out,” he said.
Neal Gunnels, director of the Huntley Project Museum, said life at the museum has been much easier since the computer and email system have been updated.
“I missed a bunch of important emails,” he said. The museum staff is grateful to Bradley for his help.
“I try to help people if I can,” Bradley said. As a bonus, he got a chance to see all the museum exhibits while he waited for the computer work to resolve.
