An emergency meeting of the Worden Community Club was held on May 18 at Nemont Communications regarding the new, digital town sign, which would replace the current “Welcome to Worden” marquee off Highway 312.

The sign company the club hired to design the sign has stated they cannot place anything on the bottom portion of the sign, and “He’s adamant about it,” said Linda Holmes, president of the Worden Community Club.

The original plan was to include ads from sponsors on both the top and bottom of the new sign. In light of the new information from the designer, the community club was tasked with what to do about those slated to be on the bottom half of the sign. Club members worried about the reaction from some donors if they were not included on the marquee as agreed.

In order to use the bottom of the sign, structural issues would need to be addressed to avoid damage from the frequently high winds the area experiences. That cost is roughly $43,000.00 according to Ryan Siemsen, vice president of Stockman Bank.

Stockman Bank and Nemont Communications are the two main companies to be featured on the new marquee.

Kae McCoy proposed: “Why not simply have two signs?  They went on to describe the main digital sign with a split-screen display of Nemont and Stockman, and a separate sign called the Silver Donors Board.

Siemsen concurred they would be satisfied with sharing the sign space with Nemont.

Everyone agreed to have design ideas ready to present at the next meeting set for June 22.
