Huntley Project Wins Back-to-Back State Wrestling Titles

Finishing with 201 total points, Huntley Project’s (HP) Boys’ Wrestling Team earned a back-to-back State Class B/C Championship title on Saturday, Feb. 11 to go with their championship title from last year. 

Gretchen Donally, Baylor Burton and Wylee Lindeen all scored over 100 points to earn the first-place State Champion ranking for the Red Devils – 138, 103, and 160 points, respectively.

Coming in right behind in the second place ranking, were HP students Gavin Needens and Cooper Lane.

Tucker Kaczmarek and Garrett Sholley placed third, Hayden Ramaeker took the fourth-place spot, and Hayden VonOlnhausen won fifth place ranking.

Finally, Derek Lacenmeier and Grady Schmidt earned sixth place at State this year.

In addition, Huntley Project – a Class B team – defeated the Class AA team of Billings West in a duel this season.

HP Head Wrestling Coach, Tim Kazcmarek, said it’s been “a heck of a season Red Devil wrestling team and coaches.” 

“The team effort, hard work, and determination paid off,” said Kazcmarek.

Back on “the Project” Saturday night, a trophy parade was held starting at the Pryor Creek exit off Interstate 90. The coaching staff thanked the Worden Fire Department for their assistance in the parade, as well as the parents, families, and fans for their support throughout the season.

Boys

Class AA – Billings West 220.5, Billings Senior 165, Billings Skyview 83.5

Class A – Lockwood 118

Class B, C – Shepherd 17, Broadus 3.

Girls

Class AA – Billings Senior 202, Billings Skyview 100, Billings West 80, 

Class A – Lockwood 46.5, 

Class B, C – Shepherd 7, Laurel 0
