Northwest Farm Credit Services (NWFCS) donated $10,500 to Huntley’s Barkemeyer Park on Monday, October 3 to help pay for upkeep and upgrades to the park. NWFCS leadership reported that a majority of that amount came from their Billings office but mentioned $2,500 was added last-minute from the company’s headquarters in Spokane, Washington.
Northwest presented the gift to members of the Huntley Community Club (HCC). This group is responsible for taking care of the park that has stood as a pillar of the Huntley community since 1973.
In addition to the monetary donation, nine NWFCS employees joined HCC members and spent the afternoon volunteering their time to help with various clean-up projects like painting the restrooms and trimming the park’s towering trees.
