Huntley Project Lions Club has always been a very charitable organization, but they are much more than that. Their contribution to their communities goes far beyond charitable work. They are described as “Kindness in Action.” When caring people join together, roll up their sleeves and take action to make their community better, it’s a beautiful thing—and an incredible feeling for everyone involved. That’s Lions. Being a Lion is about leading by example, building relationships and improving the world through kindness. It’s 1.4 million caring men and women serving together so they can make a lasting impact and change more lives.
This year the Huntley Project Lions awarded $30,000 to benefit the local community. Homesteader Days is the main fundraising event for club. The Huntley Project Lions Club has been chartered since 1954.
The following organizations received proceeds:
Ballantine Food Program: $5,000; Family Services: $2,500; Billings Food Bank: $2,500; Flakesgiving: $2,000; Huntley Project Little League: $5,500; Christmas Bright: $4,500; Christmas Bright: $4,500; Christmas Bright: $4,500; Montana School Deaf and Blind: $500; Friends of Pompeys Pillar: $2,500; Friends of Pompeys Pillar: $2,500; MT Lions Sight and Hearing Foundation: $5,000 (The Foundation provides sight and hearing needs to Montana. The club provides free vision screenings to the surrounding schools (Huntley Project, Lockwood, Shepherd, Colstrip, Forsyth, Saint Francis and other schools). An additional Plus Optic machine was purchased by the club to increase sight screening in area Montana schools.
