One person is dead in Ballantine after shots were fired Monday evening. A call was placed to 911 dispatch at approximately 9:12 pm and officers were dispatched to Highline Canal road just South of Interstate 94. Montana Highway patrol, Yellowstone County Sheriff deputies along with an ambulance from the Worden Fire department arrived at the residents to provide assistance.
The HELP helicopter was dispatched from Billings and landed in Ballantine for about 15-20 minutes before leaving empty near the Highline Canal Road residence. Caption Michaelis of the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s office stated that one person is being questioned in the shooting and that detectives will be working through the night to gather evidence and information related to the shooting.
More information will be released in the morning by Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, according to Caption Michaelis.
