Two trailer homes burned to the ground in downtown Huntley after calls came into 911 around noon on Monday. Worden Volunteer Fire department responded first to the fire with Shepherd and Lockwood Fire Departments providing fire trucks and water tender trucks to the fire. Streets in Huntley were blocked off while emergency crews responded to the fire.
As this was considered a big fire for the Worden Fire department, additional aid was called in to help with the blaze. Worden had 2 fire trucks and one water tender vehicle as Shepherd had a water tender and fire truck respond. Lockwood also had a fire truck respond to the multi-house fire. In total, there were 6 Sheriff deputies that responded as well as 3 highway patrol vehicles to control traffic.
Yellowstone County Sheriff Lieutenant Kent O’donnell said that the fire is being investigated as a possible arson but not able to rule that option out at this point of the investigation as the electricity to the residence was off and the house was vacant. He reported that previous calls to the same residents and street have been conducted due to disputes between neighbors in the area.
Nearby residents also stated that a fire burned the same residence in the same location 2 months ago in April but today it burnt it all to the ground.
Full details and updates regarding the fire will be in the Yellowstone County News this week.
