More Flood Warnings Issued for the Huntley Project Region

Please be advised:  
THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BILLINGS HAS ISSUED A 

* FLOOD WARNING FOR SMALL STREAMS IN...
EASTERN AND SOUTHERN YELLOWSTONE COUNTY IN SOUTH CENTRAL MONTANA... 

* UNTIL 1000 PM MDT TUESDAY 

* THIS REPLACES THE PREVIOUS FLOOD WARNING FOR YELLOWSTONE COUNTY. 

* FLOODING CONTINUES IN MANY PORTIONS OF EASTERN AND SOUTHERN
YELLOWSTONE COUNTIES...AND SEVERAL COUNTY ROADS REMAIN CLOSED. 2 TO
5 INCHES OF RAIN FELL OVER THESE AREAS SINCE THURSDAY RESULTING IN
FLOODING OF CREEKS AND STREAMS IN ADDITION TO FLOODING OF LOW LYING
AREAS IN HILLY TERRAIN. ADDITIONAL PRECIPITATION IS POSSIBLE TODAY
AND TUESDAY...AND AS A RESULT WATER LEVELS ARE EXPECTED TO REMAIN
HIGH. 

* SIGNIFICANT FLOODING CONTINUES ALONG PRYOR CREEK. COUNTY OFFICIALS
INDICATE THAT PRYOR CREEK ROAD BRIDGE BETWEEN INTERSTATES 90 AND 94
IS WASHED OUT. THIS IS PREVENTING THROUGH TRAFFIC...BUT TRAVEL ON
EITHER SIDE OF THE BRIDGE IS ALLOWED. PRYOR CREEK NEAR HUNTLEY IS
OUT OF ITS BANKS WITH WATER SPILLING OVER A DIKE IN A LOW LYING AREA
OF HUNTLEY. THE BRIDGE OVER PRYOR CREEK GOING INTO HUNTLEY IS ALSO
CLOSED...SO ANY TRAVEL INTO HUNTLEY WILL NEED TO BE VIA HIGHWAY 312.
PRYOR CREEK ROAD IS CLOSED AT THE INTERSECTION OF PRYOR CREEK ROAD
AND BLUE CREEK ROAD. 

* FLOODING CONTINUES IN THE BRIARWOOD AREA NEAR BILLINGS...THOUGH
BLUE CREEK HAS RECEDED SIGNIFICANTLY SINCE THE WEEKEND. ROAD CREWS
ARE ASSESSING THE SITUATION...AND IT IS POSSIBLE THAT AVIEMORE COURT
AND JENE HELENE AVENUE MAY BE OPENED LATER TODAY. THE BRIARWOOD GOLF
COURSE HAS ALSO BEEN INUNDATED WITH WATER. FLOODING HAS BEEN
REPORTED ALONG DUCK CREEK AS WELL. 

* FLY CREEK NEAR POMPEYS PILLAR IS REPORTED TO BE OUT OF ITS BANKS
AND FLOODING A ROADWAY LEADING INTO TOWN. 

* MANY ROADS ACROSS EASTERN AND SOUTHERN YELLOWSTONE COUNTY REMAIN
CLOSED OR IMPASSABLE. TRAVELERS SHOULD USE EXTREME CAUTION. PLEASE
DO NOT DRIVE ON FLOODED ROADS.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND.
