The Huntley Project Lions Club thanks all those who were involved with this years Homesteader Days and Benefit Dinner for the Huntley Project High School and the great success it was for the community and outlining areas. From the great performance from Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, Bucky Beaver and the Ground Rippers and others. Homesteader Days would not be as good as it was without the support, strength, and enthusiasm from the community. The Benefit dinner, auction, and dance raised over $38,000 thanks to your support. Thank you volunteers, sponsors, community members, and businesses who help make this a better community. Dan Krum,a member of the Huntley Project Lions Club, presented the School board for a check of 38,000. We anticipate the new year 2009 and what becomes of it. Feel free to visit the past poster for Homesteader Days.

In 1964, the Huntley Project Lions Club organized the first ‘Homesteader Days.’ The two-day celebration is held each year on the second weekend in July as a memorial to homesteaders who settled the area. The celebration honors a hardy breed of pioneer who came on foot, by covered wagon, or by immigrant train to carve out a fertile valley in a land of sagebrush and greasewood.
